About

The Supporting Emerging Adults Success (SEAS) Study aims to explore the transition from adolescence to adulthood, a critical period of identity formation and increasing independence.

Early adulthood is a pivotal time in our lives, as we experience changes in our education, employment and interpersonal relationships. At the same time, our brains are continuing to develop and change. However, we know very little about neurobiological development during early adulthood or how it is related to social contextual factors.

The goal of SEAS is to better understand the transition from adolescence to adulthood, both in the brain and in our daily lives. SEAS hopes to answer many questions about this time period, including:

How do we define healthy development during this transition?

What does it mean to be an adult?

SEAS is a 3-year, multi-part study. Through a combination of clinician interviews, questionnaires, and MRI scans, SEAS aims to learn about early adulthood over time and across multiple domains. To learn about the eligibility requirements and what it means to participate, please click here:
